I just received word from a Sounders FC spokesman that ticket sales for tomorrow night’s international friendly against Mexican club Chivas are at 40,900. Good seats remain available and can be purchased on the team’s website.
The highest attended game this season was the 45,631 at the Celtic friendly on July 18 and I would think that mark could go down Tuesday at Qwest Field. There were 40,122 fans at the Boca Juniors friendly on May 26. Last year both friendlies — Barcelona and Chelsea — drew crowds in excess of 65,000.
Those number have always included season-ticket holders. Any thoughts?
