FINAL: Sounders FC 3, Chivas de Guadalajara 1, game thread

FINAL: That’s it in this one. A 3-1 win for Seattle is a fair result. The second team looked very good. More to come.

90′: GOAL SEATTLE! Nyassi can’t be stopped, knocks in a rebound after Montero rattles the woodwork.

88′: Seattle sub: Sanna Nyassi for Mike Seamon.

77′: Ocampo sent off after earning his second yellow card, for a horribly late sliding challenge on Mike Seamon.

75′: Fredy Montero in for Nate Jaqua.

74′: SAVE! Ponce with a swerving shot that Boss dives to stop.

70′: Goal Chivas! Second-half sub Marco Fabian gets Adams to a cross by Ponce and buries a header past Boss to make it 2-1.

67′: Ocampo booked by Vaughn. Probably for an earlier foul on Montano, who has taken a beating in his short time.

63′: Yellow card to Chivas’ Oviedo. The visitors also make a couple subs, Ponce on for Sanchez. And Fabian in for Medina.

59′: Seattle sub: Miguel Montano on for Estrada.

56′: Akeem Adams booked.

50′: Fucito takes a corner, Jaqua just missed the header.

46′: We’re off in the second half.

Halftime: Pete Vagenas and Akeem Adam (no. 52?) coming in. Wahl and Fernandez out. Chivas brought Hernandez and Araujo in for Michel and Enriquez.

Halftime: After one minute of stoppage time, referee Terry Vaughn blows the whistle to close the first half. Sounders FC deservedly lead 2-0. More to come.

44′: Chivas goalie Luis Michel shaky on that corner kick. Ball lands in the top netting, so he’s not punished. He hasn’t been sharp.

41′: Zach Scott dives to head a free kick across the goal face and Jaqua reaches to tap it in, but can’t get there.

36′: David Estrada with a physical challenge, then fires a hard shot from 30+ yards that forces a diving save.

31′: Chivas sub: Esparza on for Escalante.

30′: Definitely quieter in here at times without those rowdy guys in the south end.

26′: Fucito with an incredible turn and shot. Off the post! Great skill there.

22′: Graham and Marshall pretty strong in the back. Chivas not able to do much.

18′: GOAL SEATTLE! Mike Fucito flicks a ball on to Levesque on the left side. Roger curls in a beautiful cross to Nate Jaqua, who heads it in. Sounders FC up 2-0.

16′: On one end Ulises Davila was stoned by Taylor Graham. On the other end Fucito is booked for an intentional handball to set up a breakaway.

14′: Had some connectivity issues. Seattle continues to stay on the attack.

5′ GOAL SEATTLE! Roger Levesque puts Fucito in on goal and the second-year forward calmly finishes the chance, knocking his shot in off the post. Very poor defending. Fucito wide open in the middle of the defense.

3′: Jaqua sets up Fucito, but the pass is a little heavy and he can’t get much on the shot. In the aftermath Fucito catches a defender and he needs treatment. Can’t see his number.

1′: And we’re off!

Pregame: Just got done with the national anthems. I’m going to call this a 50-50 crowd, with an even number of fans for each team. Though Chivas might have more…

Pregame: Here’s the walkout. Seattle in the electricity yellow. Chivas in the traditional red-blue-white. As a late addition, American-born Miguel Ponce was added to the bench for the visitors.
