Official word in from the team is that Seattle’s home leg of a two-game conference semifinal will be Sunday, Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. at Qwest Field. Season-ticket holders have been notified how to reserve their seats already. Tickets go on sale to the general public next Thursday.
Sounders FC is guaranteed to be the lower seed in the first round. As such the first game in the two-leg aggregate scored round is at home with the second on the road. The same happened last season when Seattle drew Houston 0-0 at home before losing 1-0 away in the second leg.
The MLS playoff structure is a bit confusing and will be the subject of tomorrow’s story. I addressed the set up in a blog post a while back and here’s a page on the league website that helps a little too.
Any thoughts on the news?
