As you can see, the upper deck sections are tarped off except the first couple rows. Capacity looks like it’ll be the same it’s been throughout the regular season, at about 36,000. Ticket sales as of this morning were just under 35,000.
My preview story in today’s paper focused on this being the last Sounders FC gameday at Qwest Field this season. In the buildup to the game I’ll add quotes to this post from some players about being in front of the home crowd for the last time.
Seattle enters the game on a two-game losing streak in all competitions (a CCL loss to Saprissa and a defeat in Houston in the season finale), but it certainly doesn’t feel that way. The Galaxy had a dip in form in the second half of the season, but finished it with three wins in four games to clinch the Supporters’ Shield.
We should have an incredible day of soccer here. I’ll post the lineups separately when they’re available.

“It’s our last game at Qwest and it’s going to be a great game. Every game is getting more and more important, but as our last game at Qwest Field, we just want to do a great job for our fans and give them a good game.”
“Now that we know it’ll be the last in 2010 at Qwest Field we want to go out with a little bit of a bang and go out with a little cushion when we go down to L.A. We expect it to be a very spirited crowd for sure.”
“Earlier in the year we weren’t too happy with our form at home and we drastically changed that around. We truly want to make this a memorable night for the fans because they’ve made it such a memorable season for us.”
