Just two players selected in Stage 1 of the re-entry draft

Sounders FC did not pick any of the 35 available players. Defender Tyrone Marshall was not taken and can now negotiate a new deal with Seattle until Monday. If no agreement is reached, he’ll be available to all the other MLS teams in Stage 2 of the re-entry draft next Wednesday. There’s a link to more information in the release.

2010 MLS Re-Entry Process Stage 1 Results

NEW YORK (Wednesday, December 8, 2010) – MLS today conducted Stage 1 of the 2010 MLS Re-Entry Process via teleconference. A complete list of players selected in today’s draft is below.

Players that were not selected today are eligible for Stage 2, which will take place on December 15th at 2 p.m. ET. A list of players available for selection in Stage 2 will be released on Monday, December 13th.

2010 MLS Re-Entry Process Stage 1 Selections

(listed in order of selection)

1st round: D.C. United (Joseph Ngwenya)

OPTION: Player has been added to the D.C. United’s roster

1st round: Columbus Crew (Aaron Hohlbein)

OUT OF CONTRACT: A Bona Fide Offer will be extended by Columbus Crew
