MLS releases rosters for the draft combine held Jan. 7-11

Rosters, coaches and schedules for the MLS draft combine were announced Tuesday afternoon. The combine will be held Jan. 7-11 at Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 2011 MLS SuperDraft is on Jan. 13.

Last month, the MLS Competition Committee approved an initiative to sign non-collegiate players to participate in the combine and be eligible for the SuperDraft — though I don’t remember hearing about that until the John Rooney signing. The four other foreign players included are: midfielder Paolo Cardozo (Uruguay), forward Victor Estupinan (Ecuador), midfielder Marlon Ganchozo (Ecuador) and midfielder Martin Rivas (Argentina).

Five Generation Adidas signing will not participate in the combine, some due to an overlap with a U-20 camp with the U.S. national team. Those players include: Darlington Nagbe, Perry Kitchen, Zac MacMath, Omar Salgado and Zarek Valentin.

If you’re down in Florida, general admission tickets will be $10 for the day. Otherwise games will be streamed on the MLS league website.
