Really quick, I asked Sounders FC technical director Chris Henderson to briefly describe the types of players the team picked up today. Those players being: D/M Michael Tetteh (20th overall), D Juan Leone Cruz (21), M Servando Carrasco (27), GK Bryan Meredith (29) and M Alex Caskey (47). Here’s Henderson:
* * *
“Tetteh is a guy who can play left back, can play left midfield. Has good technique. He can get up and down the line. He had a good weekend and when we had scouted him a Santa Barbara he’d done well.
“I would say Cruz is a center back, possibly can play outside back. Good in the air. Good athlete. Times tackles well. He also had a really good combine.
“Carrasco is a competitor in midfield. A lot of similarities to (Osvaldo) Alonso and with the amount of games we had last year and will probably have next year, he can get a chance in there at the holding midfield spot. A real competitor and a guy that can play in the middle.
“Meredith is a guy we’ve scouted at Monmouth. He has the ability to make some big saves. He has very good feet. I think his range and distribution is really good.
“Caskey is a guy that had a really good weekend. Can play in the middle of midfield. Sees the field well. Good passer.”
