Ten players from the Sounders FC U-18 team sign NLIs

A lot of attention yesterday went to local football players signings their letters of intent, but Feb. 2 also marked the day soccer prospects could officially commit to colleges. Ten players from the Sounders FC U-18 academy team did and here’s that list from the team website:

D Nathaniel Boatright (Olympia/Capital HS): Concordia University

G Rodney Greiling (Kent/Kentwood): Florida International University

G Ryan Herman (Fall City/Mount Si HS): Santa Clara University

F Sean Okoli (Federal Way/Todd Beamer HS): Wake Forest University

F Glenn Paden (Lake Forest Park/Shorecrest HS): Oregon State University

D Nick Palodichuk (Battleground/Camas HS): Duke University

M Troy Peterson (Federal Way/Todd Beamer HS): College of Charleston

D Evan Robicheau (Puyallup/Puyallup HS): Seattle Pacific University

D Drew White (Camas/Camas HS): University of Washington

M DeAndre Yedlin (Lake Forest Park/O’Dea HS): Akron University

“We are extremely proud of the Sounders FC Academy players that are continuing their education at the college level,” said Darren Sawatzky, Director of Youth Development, in the article. “These great opportunities are a credit to their hard work on and off the field of play.”

Also, if you’re interested in learning more about the academy teams, there will an open house Feb. 16, from 7:30-9:00 p.m. at the Foster High School Performing Arts Center in Tukwila.
