Late Tetteh goal leads Sounders FC reserves to 1-0 win

Tetteh, Michael.jpgI wasn’t able to stay in San Jose for this one, but Sounders FC beat the Earthquakes 1-0 Sunday in its first official game in the Reserve League, courtesy of an 87th minute goal by Michael Tetteh (right).

According to the team report it sounds like Tetteh, who came on as a sub in the 62nd minute, made a move in from the left and fired a shot through the legs of a defender and past the diving goalkeeper. Seattle (1-0) outshot the Earthquakes (1-1) by a 13-11 margin — 8-1 were on goal, respectively.

Terry Boss made one save to earn the shutout.

The Sounders FC reserves next host Chivas USA on May 9 at 7 p.m. The game will be played at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila.
