Sounders FC forward Fredy Montero trained today for the first time in a couple weeks (I’m not counting softball on Tuesday) as he recovers from wrist surgery. He was a neutral in some possession drills, but didn’t appear to be limited in any way.
Through a translator, Montero said he’s ready to go Saturday if called upon. Coach Sigi Schmid wouldn’t even commit to him traveling and has mentioned this week that the current group has been playing well.
What do you think? Should Montero, who was given medical clearance Monday, be back in the starting lineup against the Philadelphia Union or would you take your time this weekend and possibly bring him off the bench if needed?
