Final. Sounders FC 1, Sporting K.C. 0. More to come.
94′: Ianni for Montero.
90+2′: GOAL SEATTLE! Another corner kick, Parke puts away the header from Wahl! Sounders FC up 1-0.
90′: Four minutes added time.
89′: Montero corner kick cleared out.
85′: Yellow card to Alonso. On the free kick Hurtado nearly heads it into his own net.
For K.C., Chance Myers is on for Smith.
83′: A wide open chance for Fucito but he can’t pull the trigger fast enough. Levesque’s rebound chance blocked out for a corner kick. Fucito with another chance at the top of the box blocked.
78′: Fucito with a pretty similar shot to last year’s dramatic winner. It’s blocked out for a corner kick, but his cross is over everybody.
76′: Zusi in for Bravo.
73′: Sapong in for Bunbury.
72′: Qwest Field attendance: 36,098
65′: Mike Fucito has been called over to the Sounders FC bench. Looks to be coming in soon. He comes on for Rosales in the 69th minute, goes up top, Montero drops a bit.
64′: Rosales booked for a tackle from behind on Harrington.
61′: K.C. getting a bit physical out there.
59′: Jimmy Nielsen’s fist keeping Sporting K.C. level here at Qwest Field. Has had at least three punches to clear danger in the last couple minutes.
57′: Rocastle with a hard foul on Montero, but escapes a booking. Wahl with a nice free kick, but Nielsen punches it out.
54′: Looks like Nate Jaqua will be coming in soon for the Sounders. Presumably for Roger Levesque up front. Nope, Carrasco will come out. Levesque to the right.
51′: Carrasco booked for taking out Espinoza on the left side. Keller punches out a shot by Bravo, but Collin with a lot of contact with the goalkeeper on the free kick.
49′: Sounders plead for a booking to Smith for delaying a restart. They get it, much like Flaco did earlier.
46′: We’re off in the second half. No changes yet.
Halftime stats: Shots: 5-5. Shots on goal: KC 3-0. Fouls: SEA 7-6. Offsides: 0-0. Corner kicks: SEA 2-2. Saves: SEA 3-0.
Halftime: Lot of movement at halftime from the Seattle reserves. Friberg running around. Lamar Neagle passing back and forth with Terry Boss. Nate Jaqua and Zach Scott also out here. Fucito too.
Halftime: After one minute of stoppage time, we’re at the break tied at 0-0. Not very inspired stuff I must say. Scattering of boos — very few though — as the players walk off.
44′: Alvaro Fernandez booked for kicking the ball up in frustration and the ref ruled against him on a throw-in decision.
43′: Omar Bravo selling the foul after he’s tripped by Montero. Looked harmless but the Mexican made a meal of it. Gets it up quick and exchanges some words in the all-DP little tiff.
41′: I think Mauro Rosales has played well so far in his return from the hamstring strain. He’s been involved in a lot of scoring chances.
39′: Another corner kick for Seattle. Carrasco wins the header but can’t get it on target.
35′: Alonso with a rocket shot from 35 yards out. Just over the crossbar.
34′: Rosales with a nice cross to Fernandez, but his header is blocked out for a corner kick. Rosales with another offering, but a foul is called on Seattle.
33′: A restless feel here at Qwest Field. The pressure will only mount on the home team the longer this one goes on like this.
30′: Bravo mis-hits another chance but earns a corner kick. It’s eventually cleared.
29′: Kamara down for a couple minutes after appearing to be stepped on. He’s walking over to the sideline. Should be OK.
27′: Most of the action on K.C.’s end still. Carrasco just sailed a shot from distance off target.
26′: Montero and Carrasco each pass up shots. Leads to a blocked cross by Riley.
25′: Pretty ho-hum stuff in this one so far.
22′: Counterattack chance for Seattle, but Montero’s cross from the left doesn’t find a target.
20′: Levesque nearly settles a ball for Fernandez, who chips a cross into Rosales, but the floated header is just high.
18′: Kamara nearly sets up danger, heading a free kick back into the middle, but Keller grabs it.
14′: Seattle with most of the ball now. Some chances, but no clear ones.
11′: Wahl with a good free kick, Montero judged to have hit it last as it bounces out harmlessly for a goal kick.
10′: Seattle just handing the ball back to K.C. on every possession.
NOTE: Not sure what happened to the earlier updates. Lost in the internet somewhere, I guess. K.C. handled most of the early chances, but Keller stopped shots by Smith and Bravo.
O’Brian White and Steve Zakuani are in the building. Not sure what else there was.
