FINAL: Sounders FC 0, FC Dallas 1, game thread

As always, quick postgame notes on my Twitter account.

* * *

FINAL. FC Dallas 1, Sounders FC 0. Seattle’s once-familiar bugaboo of poor finishing does ’em in tonight. Credit FCD’s defense too.

90+1′: Neagle cross nearly mishandled by Hartman, with Levesque bearing down. Hartman tries to milk the contact to waste time. Later gather a high cross from Jaqua.

90′: Four minutes of stoppage time. Dallas sub, Avila for Chavez.

88′: Scott cross blocked out for a corner kick. Fucito’s effort headed wide, couldn’t tell who got to it.

85′: Friberg hesitates on a shooting chance. It’s out for a corner kick. It’s hit short and Scott’s header is off line.

83′: Lamar Neagle in for Mauro Rosales.

82′: Scott booked for taking out Shea.

79′: Friberg shoved down on a run in the box. Looked like a 50-50 call, Seattle doesn’t get it.

78′: Qwest Field attendance: 36,026. Sounders FC “sellout” streak continues at 39.

77′: Corner kick for Seattle. Jeff Parke rises up, but heads it wide.

75′: Nate Jaqua comes in for Sounders FC, Montero out in the 75th minute. Bobby Warshaw replaces Eric Alexander in the 74th minute for Dallas.

72′: Alonso tees up Gonzalez, but the volley goes wide.

66′: SAVE! Fucito with a strong header, but Hartman pushes it off the post then blocks the rebound chance.

64′: SAVE! Hartman tips a 20-yard shot by Fucito over the bar.

63′: Looks like Roger Levesque will be the first sub. He’s on for Fernandez. Dallas makes a change too. Luna for Castillo.

58′: Another shot for Alonso, but it rolls wide.

56′: Counterattack chance for Dallas, but Shea’s cross just missed Castillo and then Keller blocks Chavez’ shot.

52′: Shea down again after Scott beats him for a header. Foul called.

49′: Friberg just misses Rosales on a through ball.

48′: Fucito caught offside.

47′: Friberg finds Rosales for a cross, it comes to Alonso for an open shot but it’s blocked. Good start for Seattle. Can they break down Dallas?

46′: And we’re off. Looks like Friberg and Rosales have switched positions.

Halftime: Here are some stats. Shots: SEA 4-3. Shots on goal: 1-1. Fouls: FCD 5-3. Offsides: 2-2. Corner kicks: SEA 4-0. Saves: FCD 1-0.

Halftime: Clever comment from a reader: No first-half goals for Sounders FC during this three-game homestand.

Halftime: FC Dallas 1, Sounders FC 0. The visitors have created enough to deserve a goal. Seattle unlucky not to have one too.

45′: Shea left wide open again and get the ball on the left flank. Floated cross goes out for a goal kick. Maybe he should’ve shot.

There will be one minute of added time.

44′: Shoreline native George John booked for delaying a restart.

43′: Montero’s chip finds Rosales, but after controlling the ball his shot is right at Hartman.

42′: Another corner kick for Seattle. Friberg takes it poorly. It’s blocked away.

41′: Shea caught offside on the long ball.

37′: Frustrations mounting for Seattle, which is boasting more of the ball and chances, but is disappointing to be chasing the game.

31′: Fucito earns a corner kick, but Rosales’ effort is over everyone.

29′: Montero catches an elbow to the face, earns a free kick. Rosales sets up Montero for a shot but it’s blocked.

26′: Great cross from Rosales to the cutting Friberg, but the Swede can’t connect on the header. Chances continuing to open up for Dallas on the counter.

25′: Fernandez spins Jackson around on the left flank, but his cross is blocked by John. On the other end, Castillo gets a clean look on goal but fires wide.

19′: MISS! A cross comes into Erik Friberg on the far post, but his lofted shot is cleared off the line by a defender.

18′: GOAL DALLAS. Brek Shea with a great run down the middle of the field, perfect through ball by Jacobson, great finish. 1-0 FC Dallas.

14′: Rosales sets up Fucito on the breakaway, but the speedy forward’s volley is off target. Seattle staying on the attack.

10′: Not much to report. Slow moving and deliberate so far.

6′: Good header by Scott sets up Friberg, but no one runs on to the through ball.

3′: Alonso does well to harass Shea, who’s a LM today. Not a defender. Don’t trust the lineup sheets.

1′: And we’re off! Friberg to the right, but tucking in. Rosales playing at the top of the diamond still.

Pregame: Seattle in the green-blue-green uniform combo at home. Dallas players wearing jackets in the walkout, but they’ll be in their reds.

Pregame: Handful of guys (Evans, Graham, Noonan, Estrada, Wahl) watching the Colorado-New York game up in the pressbox. Was definitely an entertaining first half, which had been showing on the big screen here.

Pregame: More miserable weather here on gameday. That’s three straight rainy games at home, four overall when you include Columbus.

Pregame: Four lineup changes tonight. IN: Mike Fucito, Erik Friberg, Leo Gonzalez, Zach Scott. OUT: Roger Levesque, Servando Carrasco, Tyson Wahl, James Riley.
