We’re approaching the halfway point in the season and here are Sounders FC’s leading scorers:
Brad Evans 4, Alvaro Fernandez 3, Steve Zakuani 2, O’Brian White 2, Fredy Montero 2
Yes, the two injured guys who haven’t played in nine games are tied for third. Note how there’s only one healthy forward on that list. That’s been the talk around camp this week and here’s how some Sounders have reacted.
Kasey Keller: “Most forwards go in streaks. They score a bunch, then they don’t and it’s up to other guys to pick up the slack a little bit. For the most we’ve been able to do that and that’s why we continue to get results. At some stage you’re going to want your guys that are supposed to be scoring to score some goals.”
Jeff Parke: “Obviously, with eight different guys (scoring our last eight goals) it shows that we have guys that can score, but you need a guy that can get you 10-15 goals in a season. That’s important.”
So do you think it’ll happen? And who will be Seattle’s top scorer in the end?
