FINAL: Sounders FC 0, Los Angeles Galaxy 0, game thread

Plenty of postgame notes on the Twitter feed.

* * *

FINAL. Sounders FC 0, L.A. Galaxy 0. Both teams will think they could’ve won this one. Perk’s PK save was huge.

90+3′: Late free kick for Seattle. Alonso earns it and Donovan is booked. Last chance here.

90+2′: Lamar Neagle in for Mauro Rosales. Evans corner kick cleared.

90′: Dangerous cross but Perk grabs it. Three minutes of stoppage time.

88′: Left hip pointer for Gonzalez.

87′: Free kick for Seattle. Alonso lines it up. Wahl over there too. Ozzie’s shot is blocked.

82′: Free kick for L.A. Crowd gets excited as Beckham lines it up. It’s a cross, though, and knocked out for a goal kick. Later, Evans drills a shot wide.

80′: Omar Gonzalez was favoring something. Bryan Jordan replaces him. Last sub for L.A. Meanwhile Hurtado pushes another header wide.

79′: Lots of excitement and buzz here in the final minutes. Will someone be a hero?

77′: Attendance: 27,000. Third sellout of the year.

76′: Great combo play from Evans, Noonan and Co. No attempt though. Friberg needs attention, but looks to be OK.

74′: Evans spies Perk off his line. Tries to chip him from distance, but it’s over the goal.

70′: Pat Noonan getting ready to come in. For Levesque? Nope it’s Fernandez in the 71st minute.

69′: MISS! Juan Pablo Angel’s shot pushed just wide, maybe off the post, by Keller! Beckham in for Magee. Corner kick for Beckham, cleared. Comes to Barrett. His cross is blocked. Appeals for handball. None given.

67′: Crowd starts cheering as David Beckham appears to be coming in.

65′: Friberg with a shot wide. Moments later Alonso with a shot blocked.

64′: Moving Mauro Rosales to withdrawn forward (Evans to RM) could be the impact move the Sounders needed. We’ll see.

62′: Another somewhat nervous moment for Perk, allowing a bouncing ball to hang a bit long, but he grabs it.

61′: Brad Evans in for Fredy Montero.

61′: Riley with the steal in a dangerous spot, has a shot, but it looks like it’s deflected and Perk handles it.

60′: Great move by Flaco on Donovan. Spots a stellar run by Friberg and gets it there. Cross blocked for a corner kick. Rosales to take. Cleared.

59′: This game is impact for an impact sub.

56′: Donovan with a good cross, finds Berhalter on the far post, he whips a tight-angled shot that’s off line. Not by much. Especially for an aging center back.

55′: Salazar has a couple options of Sounders to book. Looks like Friberg gets it. Alonso spared as Donovan is taken out.

53′: Teasing cross by Wahl, but Roger can’t get there.

52′: Good stuff by Alonso to start a counter, but L.A. defends it well.

50′: Friberg earns a free kick. Rosales to take. It’s dangerous, but Perk grabs it. On the other end Wahl lets the ball bounce behind him to Donovan, but the header is right at Keller. Wow.

48′: Barrett beats Hurtado to earn some space, but fires off target.

46′: We’re underway. No apparent changes.

Halftime. Some stats. Shots: SEA 7-3. Shots on goal: SEA 2-0. Saves: LA 1-0. Fouls: 6-6. Corner kicks: SEA 2-1. Offsides: SEA 5-2.

Halftime. Sounders FC 0, L.A. Galaxy 0. Pretty even half. Big PK save by Perk. L.A.’s has also had some good scoring chances.

45′: Three minutes of stoppage time.

42′: Seattle still seeing a lot of the ball.

39′: Barrett skies a shot.

38′: Sounders on the attack, but a couple shots by Montero and Alonso are blocked.

36′: MISS! Barrett sets up Angel in front goal but he fires wide! Wow. Hurtado kept him on.

33′: I have Sounders FC 3-for-7 all-time in penalty kicks in MLS games. Let me know if I’ve missed something.

2009: Misses by Ljungberg, Montero

2010: Miss by Noonan, make by Sturgis

2011: Two makes by Evans, miss by Montero

28′: MISS! Another cross to Magee, from Donovan I believe, but after beating Rosales to the ball, he knocks it wide. Very good chance there.

26′: Magee can’t quite connect a cross and Keller grabs it.

24′: Two Galaxy players down. Need treatment. DeLaGarza again. Stretchered off. Berhalter up and in.

21′: Corner kick for Seattle. Wahl takes it. Hurtado wins it well, but pushes the header wide. Good chance there, too.

18′: PENALTY KICK! Montero’s bicycle kick is blocked by Omar Gonzalez’ hand. SAVE! Montero takes it, not very well, and Perk stops it diving to his right.

16′: Perk handles a nervous moment well. Put in a bad spot with the back pass.

14′: Montero catches DeLaGarza with a high boot. Looked unintentional to me. No card coming it appears.

12′: Rosales earns a corner kick. Wahl to take. Cleared.

10′: Even play in the first 10 minutes. Maybe a slight edge to Seattle. L.A. starting to see more of the ball.

8′: Riley blocks a cross out for a corner kick. Juninho takes it. Cleared.

7′: Keller and Donovan captains tonight. Not a bad duo for the Fourth of July.

4′: Weird call on Friberg. Juninho takes the free kick. Angel heads it across. But it’s cleared.

3′: MISS! Great work from Rosales, then Montero sends in a low cross to an open Levesque, but he skies the shot.

1′: Rosales free on the right, but the cross doesn’t beat the first man. He’s then called offside on the follow up.

1′: And we’re off!

Pregame: Michael Stephens out with an ankle sprain.

Pregame: A little pregame tifo. Captured by Adam Serrano of MLSsoccer.com.

Pregame: There was a quick L.A. tifo, but I missed most of it. Had to do with the Death Star from Star Wars. There was a Space Needle involved, but they took it down quick.

Pregame: It’s 7:25 and the players are just leaving the field after warm-ups. Expect kickoff to be closer to 7:45.

Pregame: Sounders FC will be in Electricity yellow tonight for the first time in a league game. L.A. will also be unveiling its new third kit in dark blue.

There could be lots of Electricity coming up this month with U.S. Open Cup, CCL and the Manchester United friendly.

Pregame: Be sure to check out the lineups posted below.
