MLS Player of the Week honors are staying in Seattle. Midfielder Mauro Rosales was named the winner today after Fredy Montero earned the award last week.
Rosales scored the winning goal in Saturday’s 4-3 comeback win against Colorado and also had an assist. His recognition was a long time coming.
“Mauro is probably off the run of play as good of a crosser as there is in this league,” said coach Sigi Schmid after the game.
Defender Jeff Parke is the other Sounder that has won PoTW honors this season (Week 10 after his late winner against Sporting Kansas City).
