My Major League Soccer power rankings — week 19

LA Galaxy Logo.jpg1. (1) Los Angeles Galaxy 10-2-9

MLS foes will be disappointed a loss to Real Madrid won’t count in the standings.

2. (2) Seattle Sounders FC 10-4-8

An 11-game unbeaten run in all competitions can’t carry over to Man. United, can it?

3. (3) FC Dallas 10-5-5

The return of captain Daniel Hernandez from a knee injury is a massive boost.

4. (5) Philadelphia Union 8-4-7

Continue to lead the way in the East after a thorough 3-0 embarrassment of the Revs.

5. (4) Real Salt Lake 8-3-6

The weekend’s postponed game in Vancouver will only further clutter the schedule later on.

6. (6) New York Red Bulls 6-4-11

Could DP goalkeeper Frank Rost, a desperately needed signing, be the final piece?

7. (7) Columbus Crew 7-5-7

Chad Marshall, who leads one of the league’s stingiest defenses, deserves to be an all star.

8. (8) Sporting Kansas City 5-6-8

Will new DP Jeferson, a left-footed attacking midfielder from Brazil, spark the offense?

9. (9) D.C. United 5-5-8

Davies’ eight goals are one behind the league lead, but weren’t worthy of an all-star nod.

10. (11) Chivas USA 5-7-8

GK Dan Kennedy has been an unsung hero, with 56 saves and a 1.06 goals-against average.

11. (12) Houston Dynamo 5-6-9

Who predicted the Dynamo would have a league-high four all-stars? Not me.

12. (13) San Jose Earthquakes 5-6-8

When Chris Wondolowski struggles (no goals since May 28), this team tumbles.

13. (10) Colorado Rapids 6-6-9

Allowing four goals to Seattle is troubling, but not as much as losing Casey for 8-10 mos.

14. (16) Portland Timbers FC 6-9-3

First road win of the season could be the needed spark to get back into the playoff picture.

15. (14) Chicago Fire 2-6-12

Not sure what’s worse: having one win in the past 18 games or just one win at home

16. (15) New England Revolution 3-9-7

Coach Steve Nicol and D Chris Tierney equated their play Sun. to that of schoolboys.

17. (17) Toronto FC 3-9-9

Roster overhaul continues with a bevy of transactions. Desperation at its finest?

18. (18) Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2-10-8

Temporary grass surface was deemed unplayable over the weekend. How embarrassing.

What do you think? Who’s too high? Too low?
