James Riley hosting his annual 7-a-side youth tournament

The second annual James Riley 7-a-side youth soccer tournament is set to kick off Sunday, Aug. 28 and registration is open until next Monday. Be sure to check out all the details at GorillaFC.com.

Here are some of the highlights:

— The tournament runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Arena Sports over in Magnuson Park

— The cost is $40 per player and you’re guaranteed three 30-minute games

— Teams eligible are: B-U9, U10, U11, U12, G-U9, U10, U11, U12 (nine players are required per team; you can play up, but can’t play down)

— 100-percent of the proceeds go to benefit the Renton/Skyway Boys & Girls Club

— Lastly, Roger Levesque and Mike Fucito participated in an “It Gets Better” video with some other professional athletes in Seattle. The project is in support of LGBT youth, who are often subject to bullying and discrimination. Here a link to the project’s website.
