FINAL: Sounders FC 0, Chivas USA 0, game thread

I’ll have some postgame notes on the Twitter feed.

* * *

FINAL. Sounders FC 0, Chivas USA 0. Kevin Stott booed at the final whistle for waving off the PK. Seattle can blame its own finishing, too.

90+2′: Corner kick for Seattle is cleared. Kennedy then grabs a cross and milks the contact.

90′: Three minutes stoppage time.

89′: NO CALL! Sounders FC’s penalty-kick appeals are waved off by ref Kevin Stott. Bench is furious. Friberg already booked for dissent. Neagle appeared to be dumped in the box. Lopes nowhere near the ball.

86′: Another cross for the visitors, but a foul is called. Free kick Seattle.

85′: Corner kick to Chivas, but Riley wins it at the near post.

83′: Official. Neagle for Montero.

80′: Keller with a good save on a header from Braun on a free kick. Elsewhere Jazic is booked for taking out Rosales.

79′: Looks like Neagle will be the next sub. For Montero maybe? Fernandez?

77′: SAVE! Kennedy comes up huge! Riley with a cross to the far post and Fernandez seemed destined to slam it in.

75′: Jaqua outmuscles Lopes for a deep ball, but his dangerous cross is blocked.

73′: Chivas sub. David Junior Lopes on for Zarek Valentin.

72′: Unpopular offside call there on Rosales.

70′: A chance for Montero in the box… but Umana with a great tackle.

69′: Official: Jaqua for Noonan.

68′: Looks like Nate Jaqua will be the Sounders’ first sub. Possibly for Noonan?

65′: Parke concedes a foul in the corner, but it’s eventually cleared.

63′: Braun gets on the end for a cross for another shot, but it’s weak and right at Keller. On the other end, Rosales floats in a cross but Kennedy grabs it.

62′: Moreno with a rare shot for Chivas, but he’s well off target.

61′: Fernandez wide open on the far post after Friberg finds him, blows the chance, was offside anyway.

60′: CenturyLink Field attendance: 36,364

56′: Corner kick to Chivas. Scott wins it.

55′: Montero with a two-handed shove from Pearce. We play on.

54′: Fernandez with a good run on the left set up by Montero. Rosales can’t connect cleanly on a shot after the cross.

52′: MISS! More good stuff from Friberg, sets up a shot for Montero, but the low driven effort is wide.

50′: Another chance for the Sounders, Friberg sets up Rosales on the right, but Kennedy gets to the cross before Noonan. Then Noonan with another chance! Friberg misfires and Noonan appears to have an open net, but Kennedy races back to stop it!

48′: Good chance for Wahl on the left, but his cross is poor. Then Montero with a knuckling cross that fooled Kennedy, but landed on the top of the goal.

46′: And we’re off in the second half. No apparent changes.

Actually Chivas took Flores off. Laurent Courtois in.

Halftime. Some stats: Shots–SEA 4-1. Shots on goal–CHV 1-0. Fouls–CHV 8-6. Offsides–CHV 2-0. Corner kicks–2-2. Saves–1-0 SEA.

Halftime. Sounders FC 0, Chivas USA 0. Seattle unfortunate not be leading after earning a PK, but the Goats looked strong to close the half.

45+1′: Two minutes stoppage time coming.

45′: Yellow card to Elliott for taking down Alonso by the face. Ugly foul there.

43′: Fernandez with some great individual skill on the left to set up a Friberg cross, but it’s too close to Kennedy.

42′: Chivas seeing a lot more of the ball now.

40′: SAVE! Nice flick puts LaBrocca through on goal, but Keller is off his line quickly to come up with the huge stop!

39′: A don’t think Chivas has even taken a shot today.

37′: MISS! Wahl, Noonan and Montero with some good combo play, but Wahl blasts a shot wide.

34′: Yellow card to a Chivas player for tripping Alonso, I think it was LaBrocca. On the free kick, Montero flicks the ball in the goal after contact with Kennedy, but a foul was called.

33′: Montero with a nice move on the left side, but scuffs the left-footed cross.

30′: Corner kick to Chivas USA. Elliott takes it. Rileys gets a head to it. Gavin puts it back in, but Keller grabs it.

26′: Seattle now 4-for-6 in PKs this season, 5-for-10 all-time in MLS games.

23′: Yellow card to Wahl for the hard foul.

Justin Braun subs in for Mondaini.

19′: PENALTY! Fernandez chips a ball and it hits Umana in the hand in the penalty box. Fernandez takes it and misses! Off the left post then it caroms off Kennedy’s back and out for a corner kick, which is cleared. Missed opportunity there…

16′: MISS! Noonan with another header chance. Nods a Rosales cross wide.

14′: MISS! Superb stuff from the Sounders: switch to Flaco, combo play with Alonso, back to Wahl for the cross and Noonan’s header is just high.

12′: Great cross from Chivas (was it Flores?) that Wahl dangerously clears for a corner kick. Close to an own goal. Pearce’s corner kick is poor and cleared.

9′: Scott continues to play on. Now Riley commits a foul. Looks like Elliott to take it. Wahl with a risky but saving tackle.

7′: Scott with the foul on Mondaini to set a free kick on the other end. Softish call made by the AR, not the center ref. Pearce takes it, Parke wins it and it’s cleared.

Zach Scott laboring behind the play. Pat Ianni warming up.

6′: Montero fouled, sets up a free kick. Rosales curls it in and it’s cleared. Fernandez might’ve had a chance there.

5′: Mondaini back on.

3′: Marcos Mondaini down and needs a little treatment. Braun warming up.

1′: And we’re off!

Chivas USA roster change: David Lopes is wearing No. 77, not Chukwudi Chijindu

Pregame: Here’s the walkout. Sounders in green-blue-green. Chivas in the red/white tops and blue shorts.

Pregame: Be sure to check out the lineups post below. Pat Noonan and Zach Scott earning starts. It’s the first for Noonan, in an MLS game, since July 15, 2010. Scott has started three games in a row now.

No O’Brian White, Jhon Kennedy Hurtado or Brad Evans today. Maybe Tuesday?

Terry Boss able to shake off the concussion and make the squad on the bench.
