Bratislav Ristic, formerly of Chicago, joins camp on trial

As I revealed on Twitter a couple hours ago, there was a new participant out at Sounders FC practice today: Bratislav Ristic, a Serbian midfielder/defender who was released by the Chicago Fire in July.

The versatile Ristic joins former Vancouver Whitecap Wes Knight on trial and could provide depth at various positions, including right back.

I wouldn’t be shocked to see a couple more trialists in camp as Seattle has until Sept. 15 to finalize its roster for the stretch run.

Chicago needed to open an international spot on the roster earlier this season in order to add midfielder Pavel Pardo, which explains in part why Ristic was cut. The 31-year-old played against the Sounders in a 0-0 draw on June 4 at Toyota Park.
