FINAL: Sounders FC 3, Whitecaps FC 1, game thread

FINAL. Sounders FC 3, Whitecaps FC 1. Thanks to two goals by Fredy Montero, the Cascadia Cup will be coming back to Seattle.

89′: Not much longer now.

85′: Ochoa off the post!

82′: Hassli off. Long Tan in.

79′: David Estrada on for Alvaro Fernandez. Estrada hasn’t played since April 2 in San Jose.

77′: Parke booked for a foul just outside the box.

75′: Salinas has had a couple good looks and curls a shot just wide.

67′: GOAL SEATTLE! Montero again! This time a deflected shot loops over Cannon and into the net. 3-1 Sounders!

63′: GOAL SEATTLE! It’s Montero with a nifty move in the box and a fine finish with his left foot to give the Sounders a 2-1 lead!

58′: Salinas on for Jarju.

56′: Open header for Jaqua but he hits it wide.

55′: Hassli gets a good look, but his shot is soft and Keller has it.

48′: Jarju with a very disappointing chance on the breakaway. Then Neagle hits the crossbar!

46′: We’re underway in the second half. I hope the internet holds up. Alonso has a shot that Cannon saves out for a corner kick, but nothing comes of it.

45′: Halftime. Sounders FC 1, Whitecaps FC 1. Vancouver controlled the early going, but things evened out as the half went on. All to play for in the second half.

Thanks for your patience with the lack of updates. Wireless connection appears to be improving.

33′: Goal to Seattle. Evans buries the PK after DeMerit blocked a Fernandez shot with his hand.

22′: Internet has been awful. I’ll try again. Goal to Vancouver, Hassli to Chiumiento to Camilo for the tap-in goal. 1-0 Whitecaps.

Pregame: Each side had a tifo on display from its fans. Even the national anthems seemed a bit competitive. Should be a fun one.

Pregame: Sounders in the green-green-blue uniforms. Vancouver in all white.

Pregame: Be sure to check out the lineups below. The wireless connection has been very shaky so far tonight here at Empire Field, so I’ll need to rely on you guys to help with the updates.
