Sounders FC vs. Philadelphia Union, pregame and lineups

philly home 2011.jpgSurprisingly nice evening so far here at CenturyLink Field. This is the second in a four-game home stand and we’ll see if the Sounders can avoid a letdown after Tuesday’s thrilling U.S. Open Cup triumph.

There is still much to play for in this one. Seattle needs to win to stay in the Supporters’ Shield hunt and can secure the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference with at least a tie. On the other side, Philadelphia is in the middle of a tight playoff race in the East.

Fredy Montero is suspended tonight due to yellow-card accumulation, and Mauro Rosales (MCL sprain) and Alvaro Fernandez (concussion) are injury doubts. Lineups will be made available around 6:15 p.m. and I’ll update this post accordingly.
