Schmid: “We’re happy with (Rosales’) progress right now.”

Sounders FC coach Sigi Schmid provided a couple injury updates today after practice. Here’s the latest on midfielder Mauro Rosales (knee) and defender Jeff Parke (concussion):

* * *

(Is Rosales still on track to play Saturday?) “We’ll see. Today was the day he’s done the most, so now we need to see how he recovers tomorrow. We had him in there as a neutral; we still didn’t want him to go all out. The main thing for us is that he’s ready for the playoffs. If we can get him two regular-season games before the playoffs, great. If we only get him one, that’s the way it is as well. But we’re happy with his progress right now.”

(How is Parke doing?) “Good. He went through the entire team warm-up and so forth. He felt he could’ve done the whole practice, but the protocol right now in dealing with concussions is extremely conservative. They decided, ‘No, not today,’ so he’s got that test they do this afternoon and that’ll be the final clearance.”
