Sounders FC vs. CF Monterrey, CCL pregame and lineups

monterrey home 2011.jpgThe tarps are back out and I can confirm that 64,000 people are not expected for tonight’s CONCACAF Champions League group-stage game between Sounders FC and CF Monterrey of Mexico, the reigning tournament champion. We could get a decent crowd though.

Seattle is expected to shuffle the lineup a bit and would clinch first place in CCL’s Group D with a win or tie. Monterrey, nicknamed the Rayados, has been dealing with some injury issues and needs at least a tie to clinch a top-two finish.

Here are the Sounders on a yellow card: Erik Friberg, Leo Gonzalez, Nate Jaqua, Kasey Keller, Lamar Neagle, Jeff Parke, James Riley, Mauro Rosales and Zach Scott.

I’ve seen Josh Ford, Servando Carrasco and Mike Seamon up in the press box, so we can rule them out.

The lineup sheets will come out around 6:15 p.m. and I’ll update accordingly.

Sounders FC lineup: GK Bryan Meredith, D James Riley, D Jeff Parke, D Zach Scott, D Tyson Wahl, M Osvaldo Alonso, M Erik Friberg, M Roger Levesque, M David Estrada, F Sammy Ochoa, F Fredy Montero

Sounders FC bench: GK Kasey Keller, D Patrick Ianni, M Lamar Neagle, M Brad Evans, M Alvaro Fernandez, F Pat Noonan, F Mike Fucito

CF Monterrey lineup: GK Jonathan Orozco, D Severo Meza, D Ricardo Osorio, D Miguel Morales, D Jose Basanta, M Luis Perez, M Cesar Delgado, M Sergio Perez, F Dario Carreno, F Sergio Santana, F Humberto Suazo

CF Monterrey bench: GK Juan de Dios Ibarra, F Neri Cardozo, M Walter Ayovi, D William Paredes, M Jesus Corona, M Cesar De La Pena, F Marcelo Cazubon
