POLL: Are you more nervous or excited for the playoffs?

So has this week of preparation been different for Sounders FC?

“For sure,” said forward Fredy Montero. “A little bit more pressure.”

Just making the playoffs is a minimum expectation. It’s going to take winning in the playoffs, however, for this season to be considered a categorical success. The chance to fulfill those goals has nearly arrived, but it will have to start without maestro midfielder Mauro Rosales (he won’t travel due to the MCL injury).

Before the team took off for Salt Lake City this afternoon I asked coach Sigi Schmid if there are any nerves going into Saturday’s road leg.

“No. I get excited,” he said. “It’s a great opportunity for us. We’ve won the U.S. Open Cup and have a chance to win the MLS Cup; we want to do better than we did last year.”

How about you?
