Rosales won’t travel for Saturday’s road leg at Real Salt Lake

Sounders FC coach Sigi Schmid said after Friday’s practice that injured midfielder Mauro Rosales won’t be making the trip for Saturday’s road leg of the Western Conference semifinals against Real Salt Lake.

Rosales re-injured the MCL in his right knee early in Seattle’s regular-season finale against Chivas USA.

“What we’re going to do is leave Mauro here so that way he can get treatment and work with the trainers here,” said Schmid before the team’s flight to Utah.

The news is consistent with what has been a said throughout the week. Rosales was deemed “very unlikely” to play by Schmid the last few days, but the team is hoping he might be available for Wednesday’s home leg at CenturyLink Field.
