— The Los Angeles Galaxy holds a 1-0 aggregate advantage over the New York Red Bulls and will look to clinch another conference final berth tonight in an 8 p.m. home leg at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
— Elsewhere, Houston can also close out a series at home. The Dynamo earned a 2-1 advantage in Philadelphia last week and host the Union at 5:30 p.m. That game is also on ESPN2.
— Sounders FC midfielder Alvaro Fernandez, who suffered a hamstring injury early in Wednesday’s game to put his international availability in doubt, finished second overall in the Castrol MLS Index Player of the Year race. San Jose forward Chris Wondolowski apparently passed Flaco in the last month of the regular season.
