— The Tacoma Tide of the PDL and Sounders Women of the W-League are under new ownership as Lane Smith and Cliff McElroy have purchased the teams from Mike Jennings, who will maintain a minority stake.

The transfer of ownership was approved by the United Soccer Leagues earlier this month. It sounds like the new owners have every intention of keeping the teams in the Puget Sound area.

Here’s a link to the press release.

— The Emerald City Supporters will be hosting their year-end party on Dec. 3 at RepubliQ Night Club (2946 1st Avenue South). The 21-and-up event starts at 8 p.m., preceded by a business meeting at 7 p.m. There’s also an awards ceremony at 9 p.m.
