Report: Michael Tetteh to take part in Generation adidas tour

tetteh mug2.jpgSteven Goff of The Washington Post has learned the 18 young MLS players selected for a Generation adidas tour in the Netherlands. Full details of the team and trip, which starts next week, are expected to be announced by the league in a few days, according to Goff.

Last year, a group of 19 led by FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman went to Spain for training and games against reserve sides of Real Madrid, Rayo Vallecano and Atletico Madrid,

Goff reports this as the team, which includes Seattle’s 22-year-old defender/midfielder Michael Tetteh:

Goalkeepers: Zac MacMath (Philadelphia Union), David Bingham (San Jose Earthquakes).

Defenders: Zarek Valentin (Montreal Impact), Conor Shanosky (D.C. United), Kofi Sarkodie (Houston Dynamo), Michael Tetteh (Seattle Sounders FC).

Midfielders: Amobi Okugo (Philadelphia Union), Tony Tchani (Columbus Crew), Luis Gil (Real Salt Lake), Matt Kassel (New York Red Bulls), Jeremy Hall (FC Dallas), Zach Pfeffer (Philadelphia Union), Dilly Duka (Columbus Crew).

Forwards: Omar Salgado (Vancouver Whitecaps), Jack McInerney (Philadelphia Union), Corey Hertzog (New York Red Bulls), Will Bruin (Houston Dynamo), Danny Mwanga (Philadelphia Union).

NOTE: Goff indicated that Hall and Pfeffer were tentative inclusions.

Personally, this sounds like it’d be a great experience for Tetteh. What are your thoughts? Think he’ll be a factor for the Sounders in 2012?
