POLL: Which team would you like to see in this year’s international friendly?

It sounds like the Sounders could be announcing their international friendly by the end of the month. These types of negotiations can be a bit complicated, so it’s tough to predict when official confirmation will be given, but good progress is being made.

So let’s hear it: Which team do you want to see come to Seattle next?

Let’s assume for these purposes that the 2012 friendly will be against someone new. This isn’t based on any inside information I’ve heard — and who would turn down Barcelona, right? — but it makes the options more manageable.

I asked folks on Twitter this same question and the top answers are included below in the poll.

Something to keep in mind. Euro ’12 is this summer in Poland/Ukraine, as are the 2012 Olympics in London, so the talent pool of some of the top teams might take a hit. Lastly, here’s a brief history of Sounders FC previous friendlies:

2009 — Chelsea, Barcelona

2010 — Boca Juniors, Celtic Chivas de Guadalajara

2011 — Manchester United

* * *

Which team would you most like to see the Sounders play in its 2012 friendly?
