Montero goes 1v1 with SoundersFC.com

* * *

Here’s the latest from a series on the team website. Fredy Montero, Sounders FC’s designated player forward, is back for his fourth season in Seattle and his English is getting better all the time.

And some other links:

— Don’t forget that CONCACAF Champions League tickets go on sale Monday. The Sounders host Mexico’s Santos Laguna in the home leg of a quarterfinal on March 7.

A lot of attention has been placed on Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan heading into today’s FA Cup between Fulham and Everton at noon. Don’t forget Tim Howard will be a part of that one as well, and here’s an interview with the American goalkeeper on ESPN.com.

— The U.S. women’s national team plays a big semifinal in Olympic qualifying against Costa Rica at 5 p.m. tonight. The winner advances to play in London, the loser doesn’t. Safe to say it’s a big one. Sounds like Richland native and UW product Hope Solo was able to practice Thursday.

— Here’s the transcript of an interview with Sounders VP of business operations Gary Wright at the 77th Annual Seattle Sports Star banquet earlier this week.

— And here’s an interview of Leo Messi by TIME magazine.

— Lastly, here’s a guy that goes to ground, looks up and waits three seconds, then decides to writhe in pain. Wow.
