Sounders FC 1, Vancouver Whitecaps 1, training game updates’s Matt Gaschk and the Whitecaps’ twitter feed are the primary sources of this material. You can follow Gaschk’s live blog here. I’ll relay some highlights below:

* * *

Final: After nine yellow cards and one red card, the Sounders’ 120-minute training game against rival Vancouver ends in a 1-1 tie.

120′: Yellow card to Harlinton Gutierres.

118′: Red card to Seattle’s Jason Banton. Gaschk said the midfielder slipped en route to a two-footed tackle, but called the ejection “understandable.”

110′: Vancouver’s Cregg gets a yellow card. I have the count at eight bookings.

106′: A couple subs for the Whitecaps: Bryce Alderson and Caleb Clarke in for Franks and Mattocks.

101′: Now a yellow card to Vanzie.

94′: Caskey is the latest to pick up a yellow card. I think that’s six on the day.

91′: From Gaschk: “Steve Zakuani, Christian Siveback and Patrick Ianni were all held out of the match today for precautionary reasons.”

Start of the third period: Here’s Sounders FC’s new lineup (presumably most of them have some work to do to make the team) and also Vancouver’s…

Seattle: GK Bryan Meredith, D Amadou Sanyang, D Tim Pontius, D Harlinton Gutierres, D Ever Alvarado, M Cordell Cato, M Andrew Vanzie, M Alex Caskey, M Jason Banton, F Roger Levesque, F Babayele Sodade.

Vancouver: GK Andrew Fontein, D Russell Teibert, D Bilal Duckett, D Carlyle Mitchell, D Chris Estridge, M Long Tan, M Floyd Franks, M Patrick Cregg, M Michael Nanchoff, F Matt Watson, F Darren Mattocks.

End of second period: Each team has scored a goal today. There will be one more 30-minute period.

74′: Sammy Ochoa issued a yellow card, the fourth of the day. A couple minutes later Whitecaps defender Boxall is booked.

48′: GOAL SEATTLE! Servando Carrasco levels the score at 1-1 with a shot from inside the penalty box.

Start of second period: Here are the new-look lineups…

Seattle: G Andrew Weber, D Wes Feighner, D Zach Scott, D Andrew Duran, D Marc Burch, M Mike Seamon, M Servando Carrasco, M Andy Rose, M Lamar Neagle, F Sammy Ochoa, F David Estrada

Vancouver: G Brad Knighton, D Jordan Harvey, D Carlyle Mitchell, D Michael Boxall, D Greg Klazura, M Darren Mattocks, M Floyd Franks, M Gershon Koffie, M Lee Nguyen, F Davide Chiumiento, F Omar Salgado

End of first period: After 45 minutes, Vancouver holds a 1-0 lead. There’s another 45-minute period and then a 30-minute period to go. Expect to see some wholesale substitutions.

29′: Roger Levesque comes on for Fucito. Gaschk indicates this might be due to the earlier foul by Bonjour.

20′: Jeff Parke gets a yellow card, the third of the game already. He had just two in 2011.

14′: Sounds like a physical game. Vancouver defender Martin Bonjour just got a yellow card for a foul on Fucito. Whitecaps’ Harris also booked earlier for a foul on Fernandez.

1′: Goal Vancouver! Conflicting reports on who scored the opening goal according to updates from both teams. Gaschk described a couple Whitecaps as “massively offside.”

Pregame: Here are the starting lineups, with the Sounders group giving strong indications toward a starting group in 2012…

Seattle: GK Michael Gspurning, D Adam Johansson, D Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, D Jeff Parke, D Leo Gonzalez, M Mauro Rosales, M Osvaldo Alonso, M Brad Evans, M Alvaro Fernandez, F Fredy Montero, F Mike Fucito.

Vancouver: GK Joe Cannon, D Alain Rochat, D Jay DeMerit, D Martin Bonjour, D Young-Pyo Lee, M Camilo, M John Thorrington, M Jun Marques Davidson, M Atiba Harris, F Sebastien Le Toux, F Eric Hassli
