Coming home (Thursday links)

It’s been almost two weeks since the Sounders left Seattle. Finally, after a week and a half in Florida and a frustrating training game Wednesday in Mexico, Leo Gonzalez (above) and the boys will be heading back home later tonight.

They’re expected to take a couple days off before resuming training, so there might not be a lot of news until then, but here are some links:

— The San Jose Earthquakes got some good news Wednesday night. They’ll be able to break ground on a new stadium after an appeal by neighbors in the area was rejected.

— It looks like MLS Live, formerly known as MatchDay Live, will be available soon.

— Here was some of Wednesday’s news from around the league: Peter Vagenas was one of three players signed by Chivas USA, David Ferreira got some game action for the first time since his major injury from last year, Andrew Dykstra appears to be tipping his signing with D.C. United, and Luke Rodgers is still dealing with some visa issues but the New York Red Bulls are hopeful for resolution in the near future.

MLSsoccer.com has an update on Stuart Holden and his rehab. And here’s an update on another U.S. national — Ricardo Clark has been loaned from Eintracht Frankfurt of the German Bundesliga to Stabaek of Norway.
