VIDEO: Arlo White on NBC Sports Talk

* * *

Former Sounders FC broadcaster Arlo White, who’s now the lead soccer voice for the NBC Sports Network, debuted on NBC Sports Talk on Thursday. White was in studio with host Russ Thaler and answered a few questions.

Oddly enough, the clip that was available online (posted above) is an abbreviated version. White’s discussion of the Eddie Johnson trade and a couple other subjects were cut out for some reason.

I watched the portion live and also recorded it, so here’s what White had to say about the trade:

“Seattle gave up two good young stars — Mike Fucito and Lamar Neagle. They went to Montreal and they’ll do very well there. But Eddie Johnson, a lot to prove. He did really well in Major League Soccer before going to Europe, but he didn’t score any goals in Europe. So he comes back with an awful lot to prove. So we’ll see what Eddie Johnson does. Finishing-wise, they all say he’s as good as anybody, and he’ll want to get back into the U.S. men’s national team. But a lot to prove. Big risk by Seattle. We’ll see how it works out.”
