Roster update after three more signings

After the signings of Andrew Duran, Babayele Sodade and Andrew Weber this week, I figured it was time for another roster update. I count 33 total players in camp or under contract, with 30 on the active roster as of now.

The three remaining unsigned players are Andy Rose, Alex Caskey and recent addition Daniel Steres, whose rights still belong to Chivas USA. The Sounders presumably would have to make roster move — e.g. a trade, a release, placing a guy on the disabled list or buying out a contract — in order to sign one of them or anyone else.

Until there’s resolution with Amadou Sanyang‘s future (he’s on trial with Chicago), I’ll continue to list him here since he’s still under contract. As you can see, the roster is getting pretty close to completion…

* * *

Goalkeepers (4): Josh Ford, Michael Gspurning, Bryan Meredith, Andrew Weber

Defenders (10): Marc Burch, Andrew Duran, Leo Gonzalez, Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, Patrick Ianni, Adam Johansson, Jeff Parke, Zach Scott, Daniel Steres+, Michael Tetteh

Midfielders (13): Osvaldo Alonso, Servando Carrasco, Alex Caskey*, Cordell Cato, Brad Evans, Alvaro Fernandez, Roger Levesque, Mauro Rosales, Andy Rose^, Amadou Sanyang#, Michael Seamon, Christian Sivebaek, Steve Zakuani

Forwards (6): David Estrada, Eddie Johnson, Fredy Montero, Sammy Ochoa, Babayele Soldade, O’Brian White
