MLS odds (Tuesday links)

MLS Logo.jpgI had some MLS odds sent to me from Bovada, an online sports betting site. The message claims these are for an “MLS Outright Winner” and I’ll assume that’s loose language for MLS Cup winner.

Here’s what they had:

1. Los Angeles Galaxy — 2/1

2. Seattle Sounders FC — 5/1

3. Real Salt Lake — 7/1

T-4. Sporting Kansas City, FC Dallas — 8/1

T-6. New York Red Bulls, Colorado Rapids, Houston Dynamo — 12/1

T-9. Philadelphia Union, Columbus Crew — 18/1

T-11. Chicago Fire, Portland Timbers — 25/1

T-13. New England Revolution, San Jose Earthquakes, D.C. United — 33/1

T-16. Chivas USA, Toronto FC — 40/1

T-18. Vancouver Whitecaps, Montreal Impact — 66/1

What do you think about the Sounders’ odd? Anyone else you think is particularly overrated or underrated?

— Looks like Santos Laguna traveled with a pretty solid team that features a lot of regulars. Here’s a look at how they’re promoting the return leg.

— The Sounders will play a training game against Oregon State on Saturday. The Sounders FC U-23s open tryouts are also this weekend.

Sigi Schmid and Ezra Hendrickson recall back on their 2000 CONCACAF Champions Cup title with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

— I’ll give another “I’m not great on the air” disclaimer, but I was a guest on Sounder at Heart’s Nos Audietis podcast the other day. MLSsoccer.com’s ExtraTime Radio has a new episode too, which featured some Sounders talk.

The team website has some updates on community events, including an America SCORES Guest Bartender Night at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Great Nabob in Queen Anne.

— The ECS will host an MLS kickoff block party on March 17. It’s a 21-and-older event that will start at 1 p.m., be located at the corner of Occidental Avenue and South Washington Street, and feature a large beer garden, food and full bar. You can purchase an ECS membership (I believe they’re closing on 4,000) and try the new No Equal Amber Lager, a collaboration with RedHook.

— Part owner Drew Carey gave this interview at the Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.

— Here’s a TV Guide interview with Andrew and Elliot Weber about “The Amazing Race.”

— Is ex-Sounder Freddie Ljungberg going to be on British reality show Celebrity Big Brother?

— The league website ran its preview for Sounders FC with a team overview and depth chart.

— SI.com has the Sounders ranked second in its Western Conference preview. Here’s Goal.com’s look at the Eastern Conference.

— Around the league: Colorado was dealt a serious injury to defender Anthony Wallace, there was an accident at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, but season-opening plans won’t change and Chicago signed the draft pick with one of the best names in the league, Hunter Jumper.

— Recently retired Jimmy Conrad chats with agent Richard Motzkin, who represents Hope Solo and Steve Zakuani, I believe.

— Lastly, no FIFA games in February or August?
