I’m heading out to Sounders FC’s training game against Oregon State and will updates later this afternoon.

Until then, here are some links for your MLS opening day:

— The referees for the second legs of the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal round have been set. Joel Aguilar of El Salvador will be in charge of the Sounders FC-Santos Laguna.

Brian Dunseth and Drea Avent were in Seattle recently as part of an MLS road trip in the buildup to opening weekend. Here’s a video of the march to the match Wednesday featuring a chat with ECS leadership, and here’s a clip with Steve Zakuani.

— The Seattle University Project on Family Homelessness will host Lawrence Cann, the founder and CEO of Street Soccer USA, on Monday and Tuesday. Cann will be the special guest at a benefit for Street Soccer Seattle on Tuesday at Golazo Headquarters (714 E. Pike St.). There’s a pre-party from 4:30-6:45 p.m. and then a screening of the film “Kicking It” at 7-9 p.m. across the street at the Egyptian Theatre (805 E. Pine). Other guests include Peter Fewing, the Seattle U men’s soccer coach and Sounders FC analyst, and Julie Woodward, Seattle U women’s soccer coach. Tickets cost $15 and are available at Brown Paper Tickets. Tickets for just the film only are $12 and available through the Egyptian Theatre. Both events are open to the public. The film is not rated but recommended for ages 13 and up due to adult themes.

— Sports Illustrated’s Grant Wahl has his Eastern Conference preview.
