Sounders FC general manager Adrian Hanauer chatted with Goal.com recently and designated players were the main topic. He confirmed some things that most of us have known already — particularly that the team has interest in Bayern Munich forward Ivica Olic, first revealed by the same reporter, but there aren’t any ongoing negotiations.
Hanauer also reiterated that Fredy Montero and Alvaro Fernandez draw the most interest from European teams and would be the top targets for a summer move. As such, the Sounders are looking at potential DP options to fill their place in the event of a transfer.
“I think it’s impossible to say no [to a big offer],” Hanauer told Goal.com.
Also adding in the report, “We love having Alvaro and Freddy [sic] and I think they are a part of what makes us successful. We will be extremely choosy and protective of letting those players go without a plan for our franchise.”
What do you think of the possibility of big-name additions and subtractions in the summer?
