It’s another one of those furlough days for me, which means I won’t be able to update the blog today.
Hopefully the timing works out, because the Sounders are taking the day off and there shouldn’t be much news. The one thing that might get resolved is the status of rookie forward Babayele Sodade, who injured his knee with Canada’s U-23 team in Olympic qualifying Saturday.
I’ll be back in action Wednesday. Until then, here are some links:
* * *
— Sueno MLS is coming to Seattle. Pre-registration for the “nationally televised search for America’s best undiscovered young soccer player” is open through SuenoMLS.com. Sounders FC is a first-time host in the event and the local tryouts will be April 21-22.
— Fredy Montero, Alvaro Fernandez, and Leo Gonzalez will take part in a Xbox FIFA 12 charity tournament on April 3 to benefit the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It will start at 6:30 p.m. and take place at the Microsoft store in downtown Bellevue. You can register to attend or participate on this website.
— In the previous note, the Sounders manager of business operations helped book the players for the event. You might recognize him. It’s Taylor Graham, whose role with the team continues to grow, it appears.
— Midfielder Brad Evans was on the radio Monday on 950 KJR-AM.
— This tweet appears to have the ratings for Friday night’s NBC Sports Network broadcast of the Seattle-Houston game.
— The latest podcast from Sounder at Heart’s Nos Audietis posted last night. Ross Fletcher was the featured guest.
