sounders women.jpgFinal. Sounders Women 5, Seattle Pacific 0. Fun night out here at Starfire. Alex Morgan leads the way with a goal and assist.

90′: Big stop by Harold again. One minute of stoppage time.

88′: GOAL SOUNDERS! Put Victoria Frederick in the score sheet. It’s 5-0 now.

83′: Time for Solo’s sendoff. As expected, she gets a loud cheer as she walks over to the bench.

81′: Solo, with her first involvement in a while, punches out a corner kick.

77′: GOAL SOUNDERS! Kara Kuttler scores to make it 4-0. The score is starting to get more indicative of the one-sided nature of this one.

74′: GOAL SOUNDERS! Veronica Perez, a UW product, absolutely blisters a long-range shot that caroms off the post and in. Seattle up 3-0.

69′: Credit SPU for keeping this one closer than people probably anticipated. Harold has been great this half in goal.

61′: Morgan comes out of the game to a nice applause. She had a goal (it could’ve been five) and an assist. Kara Kuttler in.

60′: Morgan just wide on a chip shot after a nice set-up by Patterson. Alex Morgan

58′: Another Harold save! This time on a free kick by Perez to the corner.

55′: Another save from Harold on Morgan!

53′: More good stuff from Morgan. More good stuff from Harold to deny her.

51′: Cox with a dangerous cross, but it’s punched out. Perez follows up, but her shot is too high.

49′: SAVE! Huge stop by SPU goalkeeper Natalie Harold on Morgan. The USWNT forward wins the header on the corner kick, but it’s over the goal.

46′: We’re under way in the second half. Looks like Russell came out and Isabel Farrell is in for the Sounders.

Halftime: Sounders Women 2, Seattle Pacific 0. Very entertaining stuff from the home side, led by a goal and assist from Alex Morgan. Lyndsey Patterson recorded the other goal. Credit assists to Sydney Leroux and Tafara Pulse.

42′: GOAL SOUNDERS. Alex Morgan finishes a nice feed from Sydney Leroux to put Seattle up 2-0. That’s what the fans came to see.

38′: SPU goalkeeper Alexa Hughes with a great save on a Morgan shot, deflects it onto the post.

35′: Header by Leroux goes straight to the goalkeeper. Give the Falcons credit. They’re shorthanded and they’re battling.

31′: Patterson with some great skill for Seattle. Just misses high and wide on a threatening long-range shot.

28′: Impressive attack by SPU, but Demi Waitley can’t quite reach a dangerous-looking cross from Megan Lindsay.

26′: It doesn’t take long to be wowed by the strength, speed and skill of Morgan and Leroux.

21′: The Sounders get another corner kick, Pulse takes it, but it’s cleared. Pulse must’ve had the second assist on the first goal.

18′: Leroux sets up Morgan for a header, but it bounces wide. ECS has the drum out and the chants going. Cool atmosphere.

14′: Morgan turns on the jets, sets up Leroux for an open shot, but it’s too high.

13′: Solo with another save, sets up a SPU corner kick, but it’s cleared by Leroux.

11′: SPU with a shot on goal through forward Megan Lindsay. Solo makes the save.

6′: GOAL SOUNDERS. Alex Morgan wins a corner kick and its redirected in by a teammate Lyndsey Patterson. There was such a cluster, I didn’t have a great view of the goal-scorer. No replays here, obviously. 1-0 Seattle.

3′: Perez with a shot blocked right in front of goal. Very close.

1′: We’re under way! Alex Morgan wins a header off a free kick, but it goes wide.

Pregame: Hope Solo handled captain’s duties. She and Alex Morgan got the loudest cheers during pregame introductions. We’re about ready to kick off.

Pregame: There is expected to be a live stream, with commentary, on

Pregame: Sounds like Seattle Pacific is in its offseason, so its seniors from last season aren’t with the team and next year’s incoming freshmen also aren’t here yet. I count 14 field players for them.

Pregame: We were given the 11 starters for the Sounders Women. I’m not sure of the formation and the positions, but here we go.

Hope Solo, Alex Morgan, Sydney Leroux, Stephanie Cox, Veronica Perez, Kate Deines, Sophie Reiser, Lyndsey Patterson, Elizabeth Russell, Tafara Pulse, Kelli Smith.

Pregame: We might get close to a sellout here tonight, though I’m not sure what capacity is. Maybe about 3,500.

Pregame: Megan Rapinoe won’t be playing tonight and isn’t expected to play Friday either against Seattle University. Looks like her first game might be May 4 against UW.

Pregame: Welcome to Starfire Stadium for tonight’s exhibition between the Sounders Women and Seattle Pacific. Kickoff will be at about 7:30 p.m.

Four of the USWNT stars are here and ready to play (Hope Solo, Alex Morgan, Sydney Leroux, Stephanie Cox) as seen in this Solo tweet.
