The recovery of Steve Zakuani is set to take another positive step, the Sounders FC midfielder revealed on Twitter. But first, some context…
Zakuani wasn’t a part of Seattle’s team that lost an MLS Reserve League game Monday against the Galaxy, which caught the attention of Landon Donovan. As you can see above, the L.A. star asked Zakuani how he’s doing, and the Sounder responded by saying he’ll play in next week’s reserve game against Chivas USA.
Forty-five minutes against Gonzaga has been the extent of Zakuani’s action against an opponent. Playing against an MLS reserve team would be a solid step toward his eventual return.
