FOX Sports Media Group hosts Survival Sunday on May 13 (Tuesday links)

epl logo.jpgFor the first time in U.S. history, nine of the 10 games on the last day of the English Premier League season will be presented simultaneously by one company. That will happen on May 13 by the FOX Sports Media Group in what it’s calling “Survival Sunday.”

That’s right. Nine live EPL games on the FSMG (though unfortunately for us on the West Coast it’s at 7 a.m.) and then the 10th will be on ESPN.

Seven of the nine FSMG games will be televised — FX, SPEED, FSN, FUEL TV, FOX Soccer, FOX Soccer Plus and FOX Deportes — and the other two will be online at FOXSoccer.com and FOX Soccer 2Go. All the networks will continue with postgame coverage and all but the SPEED channel will have pregame coverage at 6:30 a.m.

Pretty cool, I think.

Here are the fixtures (broadcast information TBD):

Chelsea vs. Blackburn Rovers, Everton vs. Newcastle, Manchester City vs. Queens Park Rangers, Sunderland vs. Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur vs. Fulham, Norwich City vs. Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion vs. Arsenal, Wigan Athletic vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers, Stoke City vs. Bolton Wanderers, Swansea City vs. Liverpool.

Let’s get to some links:

* * *

— Here’s a Sunday roundup of the Sueno MLS tryouts this past weekend out at Starfire.

— A lot of attention the past few days has gone to Mike Fucito, who in a couple months has gone from the Sounders to the Impact to the Timbers. Pretty wild ride. Fucito spoke to Portland media and ExtraTime Radio recently. It also sounds like he won’t be able to play against Montreal this weekend as a provision of the trade.

— D.C. United forward Chris Pontius was the clear choice for MLS Player of the Week after his hat-trick led to a 4-1 rout of New York.

— Around the league, things aren’t looking so great in Toronto and the two teams that compete for the Rocky Mountain Cup (Colorado and Real Salt Lake) got a sponsor for the fan-based competition without involvement from the fans.

Jimmy Conrad is pretty good at these interviews for Kick TV. Here’s his latest with Landon Donovan
