Sounders FC vs. Chicago Fire, injury report

SEATTLE SOUNDERS FCOUT: GK Josh Ford (R knee stress fracture); GK Andrew Weber (L ankle sprain); DF Michael Tetteh (L hamstring strain); MF Steve Zakuani (R leg fracture); FW Babayele Sodade (R knee ACL tear); DOUBTFUL: MF Alvaro Fernandez (R quad strain); PROBABLE: DF Adam Johansson (L hamstring strain); MF Mauro Rosales (R knee sprain); MF Brad Evans (R hamstring strain)

CHICAGO FIREOUT: MF Steven Kinney (R posterior tibialis tendinitis); DF Cory Gibbs (R knee meniscus tear); QUESTIONABLE: FW Chris Rolfe (L ankle sprain)

Fernandez is the one worth noting on this report. He wasn’t able to rejoin training Tuesday and his listing makes it seems very unlikely he makes the trip to Chicago. Rosales and Johansson got through Tuesday’s training without issue and appear ready to go.

Also dealing with minor issues are Evans, Michael Gspurning, Osvaldo Alonso, Marc Burch and Patrick Ianni, but they’re all expected to be available against the Fire. Though indications were Jhon Kennedy Hurtado and Leo Gonzalez might start in the back.

Here’s coach Sigi Schmid with the update:

“Mauro and Adam obviously got through (practice) OK,” he said. “Flaco still has a little bit of an issue when he runs at high speeds. He’s probably a little bit further away, so we’ll take it a little slower with him and we’ll see with him on Saturday. … We just we want to be careful with (Ianni), same for Burch. We think they’ll both be OK to be in the game if needed, but we’ve got to see how they come. We just decided to go easier today. Ozzie, as well; we pulled him out a little bit early because he tends to overwork a little bit.”

On the other end, it will be interesting to see if Rolfe makes his first appearance since rejoining the team after an extended stint in Europe.
