Interesting to see Gonzalez upgraded to probable a day after coach Sigi Schmid said he was likely out Saturday. Gonzalez traveled with the team to Vancouver, but I still don’t expect him to start (maybe he could be available off the bench?).

I wouldn’t look too much into the fact that Gonzalez traveled — Evans, Ford and Tetteh did, too. The only Sounders I didn’t see at BC Place on Friday were Gspurning, Ianni, Sodade and Zakuani.

Speaking of Zakuani, I know a few people have been looking for an update on how he’s doing, so I asked Schmid about that today:

“He’s continuing to make progress. It’s at a phase where we’re trying to build those last things: his speed, his endurance and things like that. It’s a lot of testing. After next week he gets tested again, but I know (fitness coach) Dave Tenney feels that he’s made some good strides in those areas.”
