The Sounders announced Wednesday afternoon that tickets for next week’s U.S. Open Cup game against the Atlanta Silverbacks go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Thursday. Prices ranges from $12-16 and will be available through Ticketmaster, the CenturyLink Field box office or by calling 1-800-745-3000. There appears to be a presale for season-ticket holders that started at noon Wednesday and goes though 9 a.m. Thursday.
The third-round game will be at 7 p.m. on May 30 at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila, following last night’s venue change. Atlanta was scheduled to host the game at Silverbacks Park, but sold hosting duties to the Sounders.
Atlanta advanced to the game with a 1-0 win in the second round Tuesday against the Georgia Revolution of the NPSL. Tacoma native Raphael Cox — who has played locally for Stadium High School, Highline Community College, the University of Washington and the Tacoma Tide — scored the winning goal for the Silverbacks. Federal Way native Ciaran O’Brian also plays for Atlanta; his resume includes time with Decatur High School, the Tacoma Tide and the USL Sounders.
