Great news for U.S. Open Cup fans: Cal FC’s incredible run continues at @SoundersFC LIVE on FOX Soccer at 10 ET on Tuesday, June 5.

FOX Soccer announced on Twitter last night that it will broadcast Tuesday’s U.S. Open Cup fourth-round game between Sounders FC and Cal FC. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila and tickets went on sale this morning.

As of Thursday night, a Sounders spokesman said nothing had been confirmed yet and more will be known today.

This would be a pretty big deal as television has generally steered clear of the Open Cup before the final. Is it worth nothing that Cal FC coach Eric Wynalda has been a match and studio analyst for FOX Soccer.

It’s also unclear if a live webcast will be available simultaneously, so we’ll await more details. Let’s get to some links:

* * *

— Twitter chatter (here, here and here) this morning had Italian forward Alessandro Del Piero rumored to be the next DP signing of the Montreal Impact. Here’s one tweet of a supposed denial. That appears to fall on the heels of this report that Montreal forward Bernardo Corradi won’t be around much longer.

— Interest is also being raised as to where Ronaldinho might end up after a messy end to his time with Flamengo.

— Think you could be the 2012 MLS W.O.R.K.S. Community MVP? Here are more details from the Sounders on a contest for a good cause.

— Also, Seattle is back in the lead for MLS average attendance at 38,672. Montreal has dropped to 36,498. This tweet inspired that update.

— This is a busy week for local soccer, still seven more games to go this weekend.

— Lots of news from around the league, including one story down in Oregon that ponders whether Timbers coach John Spencer should be fired (“no” is the case made with insight from owner Merritt Paulson).

— Elsewhere, D.C. star Dwayne De Rosario was named MLS Player of the Month, The Washington Post is the latest to get involved with Texas A&M fans and “The 12th Man” issue (remember that with the Seahawks?), catches up with Robbie Keane before the Galaxy forward goes to play for Ireland in Euro ’12, and Chris Rolfe could finally see the field this weekend for Chicago.

— Also, Vancouver forward Eric Hassli is making the most of the international break (getting married in Las Vegas), here’s a magazine story on Sporting KC forward CJ Sapong and has a good roundup from 2012 National Soccer Hall of Fame induction ceremony Wednesday afternoon at FedEx Field.

— The MLS Disciplinary Committee announced suspensions and fines for a new trio. Looks like they also got to Chelsea’s John Terry (kidding).

— Speaking of Wynalda, here’s an interesting read on his run with Cal FC.

— Lastly, two other stories of note: The Sporting News takes a closer look at what the U.S. men were saying against a loss a Brazil and here’s a look at the lineups MLS teams played in the third round.
