U.S. men play to scoreless tie in Canada

Here are highlights (if you can call them that) of the scoreless tie that the U.S. and Canada played to Sunday in Toronto.

Both teams had a couple good chances in the closing minutes, but that was about it. I wasn’t able to catch the whole game due to a prior commitment, but it sounds like defender Clarence Goodson showed best for himself for the U.S. and the rest was pretty uninspiring.

About 15,000 were on hand at BMO Field to see the U.S. extend its unbeaten streak to 15 games against Canada (8-0-7). Now come the games that count. The U.S. kicks off World Cup qualifying at 4 p.m Friday with a home game in Tampa, Fla., against Antigua & Barbuda.
