62′: Brilliant goal by Eddie Johnson on an even better set-up by Alex Caskey is waved off. Offside.

61′: Seattle sub: Brad Evans in for Cordell Cato.

58′: Angel free kick hit right to Meredith. Their first shot?

57′: Alonso with another foul. He’ll have to be careful…

56′: Starfire Stadium attendance: 4,500

51′: How safe is Seattle’s two-goal lead? Well, the Sounders have never allowed more than one goal in an Open Cup game.

48′: GOAL SEATTLE! Osvaldo Alonso finishes the PK for his fourth goal of the tournament in the 48th minute. Sounders up 2-0.

47′: Fredy Montero is dragged down in the box and Seattle will have a penalty kick!

46′: Play has resumed.

Halftime: We’re told Marc Burch is the only Sounder on yellow-card warning. If he’s booked in the second half, he would be suspended for the final.

Halftime. All your records are good when you’re 16-0-1 in Open Cup related games, but Seattle is 8-0 when leading at half & 14-0-1 when scoring first.

Halftime. Shots–SEA 7-0. Shots on goal–SEA 3-0. Saves–CHV 2-0. Fouls–SEA 10-6. Corner kicks–SEA 3-1. Offside–SEA 2-1.

Halftime. Sounders FC 1, Chivas USA 0. Seattle is 45 minutes away from advancing to a fourth-straight U.S. Open Cup final.

42′: Osvaldo Alonso booked in the 42nd minute for a foul at midfield. Crowd doesn’t agree.

41′: More boos for the ref as Montero is shoulders off the ball on the box. Then a foul goes against the Sounders and the crowd gets louder.

35′: SAVE! Eddie Johnson gets a chance to double the lead, but his shot inside the penalty box is impressively stopped by Chivas USA’s Dan Kennedy.

31′: GOAL SEATTLE! Eddie Johnson finishes a breakaway, set up by Osvaldo Alonso, in the 31st minute. 1-0 Sounders.

31′: Fans don’t like a no-call on Cato. Moreno nearly breaks free on the breakaway, but he’s offside.

28′: Gonzalez is found on the left making a nice run, but his cross is hit too hard. We’ve had a lot of those. The difference between Starfire and CenturyLink? Moments later Cato has some nice moves in the box, but his shot is blocked.

27′: Blair Gavin caught offside.

26′: Corner kick to Chivas. Cardozo takes it. Meredith is there to punch, but it looked like Eddie Johnson beat him to the clearance.

21′: Villafana beats Cato to space on the left and drives in a dangerous cross, but no one is there to connect.

18′: Andy Rose gets free on the right, but over-hits the cross.

14′: Johnson fouled to set up a free kick. Montero curls it in, Hurtado wins it, but it’s well wide and out for a goal kick.

11′: Scott finds Cato up the right side. His cross sails a bit. Followup chance is taken by Kennedy, who complains to the linesman about something, likely that Montero was judged to be onside.

8′: Eddie Johnson commits a hard foul. Looked like Oswaldo Minda then kicked the ball at him, might have been inadvertent. Ref calms them down.

7′: Lot of whistles going against the Sounders. Fans don’t like it.

4′: Chivas gets a chance through Villafana on the left, but his cutback pass is cleared.

2′: Seattle pressing so far. Cordell Cato earned a corner kick, but nothing came of it. Then Fredy Montero nearly gets behind, but the offside flag is up.

1′: And we’re off!

Pregame: Big moment tonight for a trio of young Sounders FC midfielders: Cordell Cato, Andy Rose and Alex Caskey. Mauro Rosales, Brad Evans and Alvaro Fernandez are on the bench.

Pregame: Sounders back in Super Cyan. Chivas USA in the traditional red, white and blue, with blue shorts and socks.

Pregame: Standard antagonism here as the Chivas USA starting lineup is announced — except for James Riley, of course, who gets a nice cheer.

Pregame: Good evening folks. Lineups have been posted in the post below, which also includes the Ustream feed of the game.
