UPDATE — Here’s an update from the league. The Sounders will go on the road in the semifinals: Carolina will host Orlando on Saturday at 4 p.m. PT at Macpherson Stadium in Greensboro, N.C., while London’s German Club will play host to the Sounders FC U23s on the same night at 4:30 p.m. PT.
Second-half goals from Darwin Jones and Jamael Cox led the Sounders FC U-23s to a 2-0 win over the Ventura County Fusion in the Western Conference championship game Sunday.
Seattle, which beat FC Tucson in the conference semifinals, advances to the PDL Final Four and will face Forest City London (at least according to the team from Ontario, Canada) in a national semifinal. The Carolina Dynamo and Orlando City U-23s would then meet in the other semifinal.
Details regarding dates, times and location will be announced by the league Monday. From the U-23 Twitter account, the host team will be determined through a bidding process.
Interestingly, the last three PDL champions have come from the Western Conference: Kitsap Pumas (2011), Portland Timbers U23s (2010) and VC Fusion (2009).
And on a side note, former Sounders forward Nate Jaqua has joined the U-23s for the playoffs, but was forced to come out of Sunday’s game with a first-half injury.
