Sounders FC U-23s lose in PDL semifinal, Yedlin named to all-conference team

u23s logo.jpgThe Sounders FC U-23s had a two-goal lead in a PDL semifinal Saturday but couldn’t hold on, eventually losing on the road, 3-2, to Central Conference champion FC London.

The Carolina Dynamo, which won the Eastern Conference, will host FC London for the league championship Saturday. It will be the first time a four years the winner didn’t come from the West.

Seattle did have representation on the All-Western-Conference team, which was released by the league Monday. DeAndre Yedlin, a homegrown product from Seattle, made the team as a defender. He’s off to play his sophomore season at Akron in the fall and someone to keep an eye on in the future when it comes to earning a contract with the first team.

Other local representation on the All-Western-Conference team were defender Stephen Mohn and midfielder Matt Friesen, both from the Kitsap Pumas.
