My photography skills are notoriously mediocre, but I busted out the point-and-shoot camera Monday for Marcus Hahnemann first official practice as a Sounders FC goalkeeper.
It’s not print worthy, but hopefully it brings you a little closer to the action.
I’ll have more from our interview with Hahnemann later this afternoon.
* * *
Hahnemann admitted he felt “really retired” last week, but said he’s here to play and hopes to be with the team through the 2013 season.
Hahnemann had to introduce himself to the team before practice.
Obviously Hahnemann’s was the big story. SoundersFC.com’s video folk gather some footage here.
When Hahnemann told his kids he signed with the Sounders, they thought he meant as a coach. Hahnemann also thanked his wife for making sure he jogged very day.
GM Adrian Hanauer called Hahnemann about signing just a couple days before the roster freeze. Hanauer said the move was all about soccer, not sentiment.
Hahnemann just recently went fishing but will have to put off other retirement plans for a while.
Hahnemann’s group interview with the media lasted about 16 minutes. More on that one coming.
